INVEST IN REAL ESTATE!

Paul Ritchie says: “If I had known at sixteen what I know now, I would have invested in land here in Nassau, from the time I came here to work. Cindy and I really started our Real Estate education when we entered the Real Estate Market as Real Estate and Rental Agents!”

Paul Ritchie moved to Nassau from Long Island in ’63, starting out as a packing boy with City Market, making four pounds ten a week, plus tips. In 1978, he made his first Real Estate sale, when he sold his neighbor’s house to a friend. In the spring of ’79, Paul and his wife, Cindy, started to work full time in Real Estate Brokerage under the name RITCHIE REALTORS.  

Mr. Ritchie offered this insight:                                                                        

“In hindsight, we should not have been so hurry to sell off  most of the land that we bought in Nassau over the years, as appreciation of land values has been tremendous over the last thirty years, increasing anywhere from fifteen times to a hundred times. We could have been in retirement, but that’s just the way it is. Everyone who bought land from us or through our Agency got a good deal”.

And he added, “Nowadays, you should also look outside of Nassau to the Family Islands where land investment opportunities are increasingly available.  That doesn’t mean that you have to leave Nassau out of your search, because land investment opportunities are still here – you just have to look harder.”
