Questions and Answers E-mail

Q. Should you appraise your property if you decide to sell it?

A. Not if you are listing it with a Realtor who has a proven record of knowing property values. If you chose to sell your property without the help of a Realtor, then you should have it appraised by an appraiser who has a proven record of knowing property values. Values don't stay the same, especially land value, and for sure, you don't want to sell yourself short.

Q. Should you review insurance coverage on your developed properties at least once a year?

A. Yes you should, otherwise your properties may become under-insured. An experienced Appraiser can help you to review your portfolio and prepare written updates for a reasonable fee.

Q. How about putting up your residence as security for bail?

A. It's entirely up to you, just keep in mind that you could lose it if things go bad. Wind blow hot from the south.

Q. Should you know where all of your property deeds are, keeping a careful record of all of your real estate holdings?

A. Indeed! Don't trust your memory, as keeping written records of what you have is a proven way to minimize angst and frustration.
