Melissa was born in New Providence. Nine years later in ‘88 she moved to Great Exuma with her family. The time spent on Exuma, though short, made her an “island girl” at heart. In 1994 she and her family relocated to Nassau where she completed secondary school and attended the College of the Bahamas. During her college years she worked fulltime at Barclays Bank and helped out her father, Paul Ritchie, by typing appraisal reports for him. Melissa eventually decided to make real estate her fulltime profession and at that point she joined Paul Ritchie Real Estate full-time in December 1997. Within four years she became a licensed Salesperson with membership in BREA; and within that same period she took and passed courses in Real Estate Appraisal Methodology.
With twelve years of experience enhanced by on-the-job training and schooling by BREA and the Gold Coast School of Real Estate, Melissa has become very effective in real estates sales, rentals, property management and appraisal field and office work – she continues to work along with her father, Paul Ritchie, as a field and office appraisal assistant, helping him to prepare thousands of appraisal reports over the last fourteen years. Working closely with her father and mother has given Melissa a wealth of knowledge on property values and has deepened her awareness of the potential for profitable and sustainable development in the Real Estate Industry, not only here in the Capital, but throughout our beautiful archipelago.
While Melissa is active in residential and commercial sales and rentals, she has developed a special interest in commercial sales and has successfully closed on a number of commercial sales throughout New Providence. Her eagerness to find prospects what they are looking for, big or small, keeps them coming back again and again.
Melissa’s interests include spending time with family, cooking, beaching, traveling and shopping
